Remembrance Day – Sunday 8 November 2015
The Scout Group will once again be organising an act of Remembrance on the Village Green, on Sunday 8th November. This year the Guides will be joining us.
Guiding and Scouting members will all be assembling at the War Memorial Hall, Hambledon Road at 10:15 am and after an introduction from All Saints Church Assistant Priest (Rev’d Sandie Osborne) we will be marching from there to the Village Green for the short act of remembrance around the flagpole.
We’d like to see all our members attend this in full uniform to show our respect for those whom we are remembering. Parents and family are also invited to attend.
We also need parents or other adults who would be willing to act as marshals during the parade – to wear Hi-Viz jackets and temporarily stop traffic whilst the parade marches to the Village Green.
If you can help with this please contact Keith Davis (tel 02392 365760 or e-mail email@example.com or Angela Harwood (GSL) tel 02392 252110 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts and Explorer Scouts need to be at the War Memorial Hall at 10.15 am.
Please bring along the red foam Poppy you have made and carry it in the parade to the Green, where it will form part of Denmead’s own “Field of Poppies”
They will be dismissed from the Green at approx. 11:15.
We hope to see you all there
There will be a collection for the British Legion
